Modules
A module has a title, description, up to 6 skills, key terms and a colour; a course needs 2 modules to publish.
A module is a chapter of your course. Besides its lessons it has a description, the skills it teaches, key terms and a colour. Select a module in the tree to edit them.
What's on it
- Title, description
- Shown in the curriculum and on the module page, and read by search.
- Skills
- Up to 6, picked from the skill list. Students earn them by finishing the module. The course as a whole needs 3 to 8, set in Course Settings → Listing.
- Key terms
- A term and its definition. Wherever the term appears in the course, students can point at it to read the definition, and Study Flashcards makes cards from them.
- Colour
- The colour behind the module page, and of its buttons, links and icons. Apply to all lessons gives its lessons the same colour; otherwise they use the course's.
How to delete a module
- 1.
Drag the module in the tree. A bin appears: Drop here to delete this module.
- 2.
Drop it there. You are told if another lesson requires something in it.
- 3.
Choose Delete permanently. Its lessons go with it.
Rules and limits
- A course needs at least 2 modules to publish. The publish page warns about a module with no description.
- Only the creator adds, deletes and reorders modules. A collaborator with access to a module can change its skills and key terms, not its title, description or colour.
If something goes wrong
- "A module can teach at most six skills"
- Remove one before adding another.
- "Not deleted: …"
- The module is still there. The reason follows the colon.
