Inviting a collaborator

Choose an enrolled student in Course Settings → Collaborators and name their role; nothing starts until they accept the Collaborator Terms.

Editor → Settings → Collaborators

You invite a collaborator from the course's Course Settings, choosing one of its enrolled students and naming their role. Nothing starts until they accept in their Creator Dashboard. Until then they cannot edit, earn nothing and are not named on the course.

Before you invite

Only the course's creator can invite. The person must be:

  • Enrolled in the course, and not have left it or been refunded.
  • Aged 18 or older.
  • Someone other than you. A second account of your own is not allowed either, under section 2 of the Collaborator Terms.
  • Not already invited to, or on, the course.

A course that is closing cannot take new collaborators. Otherwise there is no limit: each collaborator has their own role, permissions and share.

How to invite a collaborator

  1. 1.

Open the course in the Editor and choose Settings, then Collaborators.

  2. 2.

    Choose Appoint Collaborator.

  3. 3.

Search your enrolled students by name or username, and pick one.

  4. 4.

Type a role name, such as Lead Developer or Editor. Any name works, and you can rename it later.

  5. 5.

Choose Appoint Collaborator. Their row says they are awaiting their acceptance.

What happens next

We tell them in the app and by email, and the invitation waits in their Creator Dashboard. It shows the role, What you could edit and the share, if you have set one. Set their permissions and share now, so they see them before they decide.

To accept, they tick the box agreeing to the Collaborator Terms and choose Accept, and we record that agreement. You are told in the app when they accept or decline. Accepting turns their enrolment into Lifetime Access at no cost.

Managing the team

Each row shows the person, the role, any share and a Permissions button. Click the role to rename it, then press Enter. The bin icon withdraws a pending invitation, or removes someone who accepted, once you choose Yes.

Creator Dashboard → Collaborators lists everyone across your courses. You invite only from a course's Course Settings. Collaborator permissions and Collaborator shares and credit cover the rest.
