Prerequisites and enrolment caps
A creator can ask you to finish other courses first, or cap a course's students; the page says so before you pay.
A creator can make a course require others first, and can cap how many students it takes. The course page shows both before you pay. Prerequisites needed means you have courses to finish; Course full means every seat is taken.
How prerequisites work
The course page lists the courses it requires under Requirements, each marked Completed or Not completed, with a count such as "1/2 complete". A course counts once you have completed it, even if you have left it since. Until all are done, you cannot buy the course, start its trial or enrol free.
A prerequisite can be any published course on ACADA, the creator's own or another creator's.
How enrolment caps work
A capped course takes a set number of students. A seat is held by everyone enrolled whose access has not ended, been refunded or been given up. When every seat is taken, the page says Course full, and checkout refuses the course, on its own or in a bundle.
Save a full course with the bookmark, or keep it in your bag, and we email you when a seat opens. A seat opens when a student leaves, when someone's access period ends, or when the creator raises or removes the cap.
Rules and limits
- A prerequisite added later does not affect anyone already enrolled.
- The email does not hold a seat for you: the first person to enrol gets it.
- We send that email once for each course. Turn it off under Settings → Email Preferences → Course Availability.
If something goes wrong
- "You need to complete [courses] before enrolling in this course."
- Finish the courses it names, then come back.
- "This course is full. Every seat is taken."
- Save it with the bookmark, and we email you when a seat opens.
- "This bundle includes [course], which is full."
- Buy the other courses on their own, or wait for a seat.
