Where the policies live

All 28 policies are at acada.ac/policies; a change that adds a rule is emailed and announced 14 days ahead, then accepted.

acada.ac/policies

Open it

acada.ac/policies holds all 28 of ACADA's policies, in 6 groups. Each opens with a short summary, then the sections that apply, and the date it last changed is at the top. A change that adds a rule is emailed and announced in the app at least 14 days before it takes effect.

What you accepted, and when

  • Creating an account accepts the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy. We record which version you accepted, and when.
  • Choosing Switch to Creator in Settings → Account accepts the Creator Agreement and Creator Earnings & Payouts. The switch says so beside the button.
  • Choosing Become an Affiliate accepts the Affiliate Agreement and the Affiliate Marketing Guidelines. Accepting a collaborator invitation accepts the Collaborator Terms.
  • Every other policy applies to everyone, because the Terms of Service include them all.

When a policy changes

A correction that changes no rule, such as a clearer sentence, only moves the date at the top. A material change adds a rule, a consequence or a cost, or changes what you are paid or a licence. Changes to the terms on liability, disputes or changes themselves count too. Section 16 of the Terms of Service owns the details.

  1. 1.

The day a material change is announced, we email everyone it applies to. A bar at the top of the app names the policy, the date and what changes.

  2. 2.

Until that date, Read it opens the policy and Accept now accepts it early. The cross hides the bar for 24 hours.

  3. 3.

From the effective date, a window asks you to read the new version and choose I've read it and accept before you go on.

The window appears in the app, the Creator Dashboard and the Affiliate Dashboard. A change to a role's document asks only the people in that role. Affiliates are asked about the 3 affiliate documents, creators about the 2 creator ones, and current collaborators about the Collaborator Terms.

Rules and limits

  • You do not have to accept. Settings → Account stays open under the window, and you can close your account there instead.
  • For a role's document, you can instead leave the affiliate programme or switch to a student account, on the same page.
  • A change never reaches back: a purchase already made, a course already closing and a dispute already started stay under the terms they began under.
  • If a policy and a help article ever disagree, the policy is the one that applies.

If something goes wrong

"That did not work. Try again."
Your acceptance was not saved. Reload the page and choose the button again.
The bar keeps coming back
The cross hides it for 24 hours, in this browser only. Accepting the change removes it for good.
The window will not let you past
It is the acceptance window for a change in effect. Accept it, or go to Settings → Account, which stays open.
