Blocking and unblocking
Blocking stops someone following, messaging or inviting you and tells nobody; undo it in Settings → Privacy under Blocked Users.
Settings → Privacy → Blocked Users
Open itBlocking someone stops them following you, messaging you or inviting you, and nobody is told. Block from the … menu on their portfolio, from their card in a room, or in Settings → Privacy. It happens at once, without asking.
How it works
- Each of you stops following the other, and a follow request either of you sent is withdrawn.
- A direct-message conversation between you is closed, and neither of you can start a new one. A room invite one of you sent the other stops working.
- Neither of you finds the other in People search.
- Their portfolio shows you This profile is blocked instead of their page.
- Your portfolio is hidden from them: it says This portfolio is not available, and does not say why.
How to unblock
- 1.
Open Settings → Privacy.
- 2.
Find them under Blocked Users.
- 3.
Choose Unblock.
You can also choose Unblock User on their portfolio. Follows are not restored. Your old conversation comes back when either of you chooses Message again.
Rules and limits
- A block does not remove either of you from rooms you share. Leave the room, or report them.
- It does not affect a course either of you teaches or takes.
- To add someone to your blocked list, search for them under Search by name or username to block... in Settings → Privacy.
If something goes wrong
- "Failed to block user." or "Failed to update block status…"
- Nothing changed. Try again.
- "You haven't blocked anyone."
- Your blocked list is empty.
