Who can see your portfolio
Public lets anyone view your portfolio, Followers only shows it to the followers you approve, and Private hides it from other members.
Settings → Privacy
Open itSettings → Privacy has three choices for your profile. Public: anyone can view your portfolio, signed in or not. Followers only: only your followers can view it, and you approve each new one. Private: your portfolio is hidden from other members, who see "This profile is private."
How it works
- Followers only and Private leave your name, username, photo and country visible wherever you appear, such as in a room or a course roster.
- A profile that is not public is left out of People search, People You May Know and the Creators results in search, and off the leaderboards.
- Someone who cannot see your portfolio still sees Follow and Message under your name, so they can ask.
- The people who teach a course you take still see you as a student in it.
- ACADA staff can see a profile that is not public.
Followers only
Choosing Followers only also sets Who can follow you to People you approve, and it stays that way while your profile is followers only. Everyone following you at that moment can see your portfolio. To take someone off, choose Remove beside them in My Network on the Social page. See Following.
What you can change
Choose Public, Followers only or Private in Settings → Privacy at any time. Section switches decide what a visitor sees on a portfolio they can open; see Portfolio sections.
Rules and limits
- Accounts under 18 start private, as Age & Child Safety sets out, and can switch.
- Neither choice removes a follower. A private profile is left out of other people's follower and following lists, and a followers-only one is left out for everyone except your followers. Both still count in other people's numbers.
- What anyone can see about you is the list in section 5 of the Privacy Policy.
If something goes wrong
- "Failed to update visibility."
- Nothing changed. Choose again.
- Followers only cannot be chosen
- Your privacy settings did not load. Reload the page.
