Moving and closing tool panels
Open any study tool from Quick tools or Ctrl+Alt and a letter, drag it anywhere, and close it with Ctrl+Alt+Backspace or Esc.
Each study tool opens as a panel over the page you are on, so the lesson stays in view. Open them from Quick tools, the grid icon in the header, or with the shortcuts below. On a phone, open Menu, then Tools. More than one can be open at once.
How to move a panel
- 1.
Press on the panel's title bar and drag it where you want it.
- 2.
Choose Shrink or Expand, in the bar at the foot of the screen, to change its size. There are 5 sizes.
- 3.
Choose Recentre to bring it back to the middle at its usual size.

Rules and limits
- The shortcuts do nothing while you are typing in a box or in the Notebook, so they never take a letter you meant to type. Click outside it first.
- AltGr is never a shortcut, so the letters it types on your keyboard still work.
- Quick tools is there when you are signed in. On a narrow screen it shows on course pages only; elsewhere, use Menu.
- A panel goes back to the middle when you reload the page.
- What you make in a tool is kept in your account, so it is there on any page and any device. The Calculator's History is the exception: it stays in the browser.
