Discounts and who pays for them

Creators do not issue discount codes; we do. When a student uses one of ours, the discount comes out of our 30% first. A bundle discount, or the discount an affiliate's code gives, comes off the price before the split, so your share and ours shrink in proportion.

How it works

"The price before the code" is the student's regional price where one applies. A collaborator's share is not a discount: it comes out of your 70%, as a percentage of what the student actually paid.

An example

Each line is a $100 course unless it says otherwise.

• With our 20% code, the student pays $80: you receive $70 and we keep $10.
• With our 50% code, the student pays $50: you receive $40 and we keep $10.
• With a 20% commission and our 20% code, the student pays $80: you receive $54, the affiliate $16 and we keep $10.
• With a 20% commission and a 10% buyer discount, the student pays $90: you receive $45, the affiliate $18 and we keep $27.
• Two $50 courses in a bundle at 30% off cost $70: you receive $49 and we keep $21.

Rules and limits

• A code or a buyer discount applies to the first payment only. A Monthly Access subscription renews at its full price.
• A student cannot combine our code with an affiliate's buyer discount. They get whichever is larger, and on a tie our code is used.
• Codes do not apply to bundles, and a bundle never pays an affiliate.
• Our completion code is 20% off any course, including yours, for the student who earned it, within 30 days.
