Earnings statuses

Every commission starts as Pending and becomes Earned once its 14-day hold has passed, ready to pay out. It becomes Paid when a payout sends it, or Reversed if the charge was refunded or charged back inside the hold. Affiliate Dashboard → Earnings lists each one.

What's on it

Pending

Inside the 14-day hold. The line shows the date it clears.

Earned

Cleared, and part of the balance a payout draws on.

Paid

Sent to you in a payout.

Reversed

The charge was refunded or charged back before the commission cleared.

Each line shows the commission, then the rate and the charge it came from, such as 20% of $29.99 renewal, and the course. A line reads partly refunded when part of the charge was refunded. Buyers are never named.

All Time, Last 30 Days and Last 7 Days filter by the date of the charge. Total earnings and Avg / commission leave reversed commissions out. The Overview shows lifetime totals for Pending, Earned and Paid out.

How it works

Commissions clear on the daily run, at 11:00 UTC, once 14 days have passed since the charge. That hold matches the time a buyer has to ask for a refund.

• A refund or chargeback inside the hold reverses the commission. A partial refund inside the hold reduces it by the same part.
• If a chargeback is decided in our favour, the commission returns to Pending and clears 14 days later.
• Once a commission has cleared, a later refund or chargeback does not take it back. The exception is fraud, which our staff reverse by hand.
• If a commission was recorded wrongly, we correct it and say why. A paid commission is never changed.

You are told in the app when a commission is reversed, reduced, restored or corrected. Each of these can be switched off in Settings → Notifications.

Rules and limits

The rate on a line is the rate the sale was made at, which may differ from what the course pays today. If a figure looks wrong, write to support@acada.ac, and we answer within 5 business days. Section 5 of Affiliate Commission & Payouts has the terms.
