Creating an account

Sign up at acada.ac/login, on the Sign up tab, with an email address and password, or with Google or GitHub. You must be 13 or older. During the beta, a new account needs an invite from the waitlist.

Before you sign up

• You are 13 or older. Accounts under 18 get extra protections: see Age and child safety.
• You have an invite code, if the Sign up tab asks for one. See The waitlist and access codes.
• You do not already have an account. One person holds one account.

How to create an account

1. 1.

   Open acada.ac/login and choose Sign up.

2. 2.

   If asked, enter your Invite code. The page shows Invite accepted and fills in the address the invite was sent to.

3. 3.

   Fill in Full name, Date of birth, Email address and Password. The checklist under the password ticks off its 5 rules as you type.

4. 4.

   Choose Create account, then open the confirmation link we email you, in the same browser. Opening it signs you in.

With Google or GitHub, choose Continue with Google or Continue with GitHub instead. The account takes the name and email address that service holds. The first time you arrive, a window headed One more thing asks for your date of birth.

What happens next

Your first sign-in sends a welcome email and uses up your invite. Your dashboard starts with ACADA Onboarding. Creating the account accepts the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy, as the line under the button says.

Rules and limits

Password

At least 8 characters, with an uppercase and a lowercase letter, a number and a special character such as ! or #.

Full name

The name on your certificates. You can change it in Settings → Account.

Date of birth

Private: only you and our staff can see it. It cannot be edited; if it is wrong, write to support@acada.ac.

Username

Made from your email address when the account is created. You can change it on your portfolio, within 3 to 30 characters.

If something goes wrong

"You need to be 13 or older to use ACADA."

The date of birth is under 13, so no account can be made.

"That code is not valid, or it has already been used."

Check the code against the invite email. Each code works for one account.

"An account already uses that email address…"

Sign in, or reset your password.

"We could not send your confirmation email…"

No account was created. Try again in a moment.

"We could not create an account for that address…"

No email arrives

Look in spam. Signing up again with the same address sends another link.
