Language and display currency
The globe translates pages into one of 133 languages; Settings shows an approximate local amount beside US dollar prices.
Header → Language · Settings → Appearance
Open itTwo settings change how ACADA reads without changing what anything costs: the language pages are shown in, and a currency shown beside prices. Courses are priced in US dollars either way.
Language
The globe in the header opens a list of 133 languages, with Search languages… at the top. Choosing one reloads the page in it, through Google's page translator, course text included. The choice is kept in this browser, and on your account when you are signed in.
Choose English to go back. Nothing is sent to Google until you pick a language other than English. Machine translation is for reading: a course is written in its creator's language.
Display currency
Settings → Appearance has Currency, with Show prices in and a list of 56 currencies. Pick one and an approximate local amount appears beside each dollar price, such as $49.00 ≈ £38. The rates are refreshed daily.
It starts from your account's last choice, then this browser's, then your location. It changes only what is shown. Checkout shows the exact amount: a one-time purchase can be charged in your currency where Stripe offers it, and monthly access in US dollars.
Rules and limits
- Your price may be your country's regional price, also set in dollars: see What you pay.
- Translation uses a cookie called googtrans, set only when you choose a language: see the Cookie Policy.
