Files and embeds

Files up to 25 MB for students to download, and tools from sites such as Figma and CodePen shown in the lesson.

A File Attachment block gives students a file to download. An Embed block shows another site's tool in the lesson, such as a Figma board or a CodePen. Students load an embed with one click before anything is fetched from that site.

File Attachment

Up to 25 MB: PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, ZIP, RAR, TAR, text, Markdown, code or JSON. Images go in an Image block. Students see the name, type and size with a download button, and every file in the course is also listed in its Resource Library.

Embed

Paste an https link. These embed in place: Figma, Miro, CodePen, CodeSandbox, StackBlitz, Replit and JSFiddle. So do Google Docs, Drive and Maps (maps.google.com links), Canva and Airtable. Desmos (calculator, geometry and 3D links), GeoGebra, Scratch, Notion and Typeform embed too. Any other link shows as a card that opens in a new tab.

Rules and limits

  • A student can allow a site once or always. "Always" is remembered in that browser.
  • Say in the lesson what the embed is, so it makes sense before it loads.
  • What a student needs to finish the course belongs in the lessons, as the Course Content Policy says. Linking to your own site for more is fine.
  • Hidden blocks are left out of the Resource Library.

If something goes wrong

"File too large — max 25 MB…" or "Files can be up to 25 MB…"
Choose a smaller file or split it.
"…is not one of the embeddable providers…"
The link shows as a card instead.
"…cannot embed this particular page…"
The site does not allow that page to be embedded. Link to it instead.
