Your full name is the one thing you edit here; your date of birth is fixed, and your email address changes under Security.

What's on it

How to change your name

Type your name in Full Name.
- 2.
Choose Save. The banner reads Name updated.
Use your real name or a name you are genuinely known by, as section 4 of Account & Identity asks. Your certificates show the name on your account, so they change with it.
Rules and limits
- Your username is changed on your portfolio, with Edit Portfolio. It is 3 to 30 characters of lowercase letters, numbers, dots and underscores.
- A username that contains "acada", or that is a word we use for ourselves such as admin, support or staff, is refused.
- Your date of birth is taken when you sign up. If you signed up with Google or GitHub, you are asked for it the first time you sign in.
- Only you and our staff can see your date of birth. Under 18, your profile starts private and you cannot create courses; Age & Child Safety has the rest.
- If your date of birth is wrong, write to support@acada.ac and we correct it.
- Keep these details true. If one is wrong, we ask you to correct it, and we may restrict what the account can do until you have.
If something goes wrong
- "Enter your name first."
- The name was empty. Type one, then choose Save.
- "Failed to update name"
- The name was not saved. Reload the page and try again.
- Account Type shows Loading...
- Your account is still loading. Wait a moment, or reload the page.
