Upgrading from monthly to lifetime

You can turn a monthly subscription into lifetime access at any time. The unused part of the month you have paid for is credited against the lifetime price. We charge the difference to your card, and the subscription ends.

Before you upgrade

• The course has to sell lifetime access. If it does not, there is no upgrade button.
• It works for a running monthly subscription, not during a free trial or for a 30-day bundle pass.

How to upgrade to lifetime

   Open the course and choose Billing & Subscription.

   Under Manage Subscription, choose Upgrade to Lifetime.

   The dialog shows the Lifetime price, the Credit for the unused part of this month and what is Charged today.

   Choose Confirm upgrade.

What happens next

We charge the card on your subscription, plus tax where we collect it. Your monthly subscription ends at once, lifetime access starts, and no more monthly charges are made. A message confirms the upgrade and the credit, and a receipt arrives by email.

If your bank asks you to approve the payment, the dialog shows Approve the payment and we email you the same link. Nothing is charged and your monthly subscription carries on until you approve it on Stripe's page. Lifetime access starts as soon as the payment goes through.

An example

Your subscription costs $12 a month and lifetime access costs $90. You upgrade with 10 days of a 30-day month left. The credit is $12 × 10 ÷ 30, which is $4, so the upgrade costs $86.

Rules and limits

• The credit comes from what you paid for this month, before tax, and the exact days left in the billing period.
• The lifetime price is the regional price for the country you subscribed from.
• If the credit covers all but less than $0.50, nothing is charged.
• If your last renewal failed, there is no credit, because this month was not paid.
• You can ask for a refund of the upgrade within 14 days, while fewer than half the lessons are complete. It returns what the upgrade cost and ends your access; the monthly payment before it is not refunded.
• There is no switch from lifetime back to monthly.

If something goes wrong

"Your card was declined: …"

Nothing was charged and your subscription carries on. Update your card under Payment Method, then try again.

"This course does not offer Lifetime access."

The creator sells this course monthly only.

"Your bank wants you to approve this payment…"

Choose Approve the payment and approve it on Stripe's page. Choosing Upgrade to Lifetime again offers the same payment, not a second one.

"Payment succeeded but the upgrade could not be completed."

Contact support with the date. We finish the upgrade or refund the charge.
