Publish course
The first publish charges $3.00 plus $0.10 per gigabyte, once, then lists the course and makes its room; republishing is free.
Editor → Publish
The publish page shows the checklist, What goes live and the fee. The first publish charges your card $3.00 plus $0.10 per gigabyte of files in the course, once, free courses included. Publish course then puts the course live and takes you to its marketplace page.
How to publish
- 1.
Open Publish in the Editor.
- 2.
Clear every line of the checklist. See The pre-publish checklist.
- 3.
Read What goes live: price, visibility, category, skills, certificate, trial, enrolment cap, regional pricing and prerequisites, each linking to where it is set.
- 4.
Choose Publish course. If your bank wants to approve the charge, it asks on a Stripe page and sends you back.
What happens next
- The course is listed, or its link starts working if it is private.
- Its room is made, named after it, with an announcements channel and four others to start: general-chat, questions-and-help, study-lounge and resource-sharing.
- You get an email that the course is live, and a receipt for the fee.
- Nobody is enrolled; the first student is whoever joins first.
Rules and limits
- Once live, the Editor's button reads Update listing. On the publish page, Release new content puts lessons still in draft live.
- Republishing is free. The fee is not refunded if you retire the course.
- Settings go live when you save them in Course Settings, not here.
- You accepted the Creator Agreement when you switched to a creator account.
If something goes wrong
- "Not ready yet: the publish checklist has open items…"
- Clear the lines still open.
- "No card on file…"
- Add a card in Creator Dashboard → Payouts.
- "Switch to a creator account in Settings → Account to publish."
- Your account is a student account.
