Price & Access

Paid or Free, Monthly and Lifetime Access above their minimums, a trial, regional pricing and a cap; a price under its minimum is not saved.

Editor → Settings → Price & Access

Course Settings → Price & Access starts with one choice: Paid or Free. Prices are in US dollars, and students in lower-income countries pay a share of them unless you turn that off. You can change prices while the course is live; students already enrolled keep what they bought.

Free

Students enrol with one press and get lifetime access, with no checkout. A free course has no tiers, no trial and no regional pricing. Its publishing fee is the same as a paid course's, and it needs no payout method.

Monthly Access
Billed every 30 days until the student cancels.
Lifetime Access
One payment for as long as the course is on ACADA.
The minimums
$4.17 a month and $34.97 lifetime for a course with nothing uploaded, rising about $0.15 and $1.23 per gigabyte. Min $X shows while you type. See Price floors.
Free trial
No free trial, 3 days or 7 days before the first charge, one per student.
Regional pricing
On by default: each country pays 100%, 70%, 50% or 35% of your price, never below $1.00. Creator Dashboard → Revenue shows each sale's band.
Enrolment cap
A most students. Sales stop at it, and students who saved the course are emailed when a place opens.

Rules and limits

  • A price under its minimum is not saved, but the rest of the page is.
  • A subscriber keeps the price they first paid. Changing a price affects new students only.
  • Discount codes are ACADA's, come out of our share, and are not set here.
  • Choosing Free clears any trial.

If something goes wrong

"…priced below the minimum for this course's size…"
Raise that tier to at least its minimum. Your other settings were saved.
"Enable at least one tier to continue."
Turn on Monthly Access, Lifetime Access or both.
"Set a price, or choose Free above…"
A paid tier needs a price.
