Student corrections

Students propose new wording with a reason and a source; approving rewrites the passage and earns them 100 XP, and declining can carry a note.

Creator Dashboard → Corrections

Open it

Students can propose new wording for a passage in your lesson, with a reason and a source. It arrives in Creator Dashboard → Corrections, underlined in the lesson, and you are notified. You approve it, which rewrites the passage, or decline it.

How to answer a correction

  1. 1.

Open Creator Dashboard → Corrections, or click the underline in the lesson. Each shows the passage, the change, the reason, the source, and how many students agree and disagree.

  2. 2.

Choose Approve to rewrite the passage, or Edit, then approve to adjust it first and then Approve this text.

  3. 3.

Or choose Decline, with an optional note for the student such as "The lesson is right because…".

What happens next

  • The earlier text is kept in the lesson's version history, with a note naming the student.
  • The student is told in the app, and earns 100 XP when you approve.
  • Approving one closes any other open correction to the same words as Replaced.

Rules and limits

  • The tabs are Open, Approved and Declined and closed. Reopen brings back a declined, out-of-date or replaced correction.
  • If the passage changed since the correction was sent, Approve stops and says so. Edit the lesson, or choose Mark out of date.
  • A correction backed by 5 more students than oppose it also shows in Alerts.
  • A confirmed factual error is fixed within 14 days of your seeing it, under section 7 of Academic Integrity.
  • Collaborators who can edit the lesson are told of a new correction too, with a link to it.
