Unpublishing, retiring or deleting a course

Unpublish stops sales and nothing else; retiring closes the course after 30 days with refunds from your share; delete is for courses nobody joined.

Creator Dashboard → Overview → the course's menu

Open it

There are three ways to take a course down, from its menu on the Creator Dashboard Overview. Unpublish stops selling it and nothing else. Retire course ends it, with 30 days' notice to students. Delete course is offered only when nobody ever enrolled.

Unpublishing

The course leaves the marketplace and search, and nobody new can join. Everyone already in it keeps full access, and subscriptions keep renewing. It is a draft again, to edit and publish whenever you like, with no second fee.

How to retire a course

  1. 1.

Open the course's menu and choose Retire course.

  2. 2.

Confirm. Sales stop at once, and students are emailed a closing date 30 days later.

  3. 3.

Until then everyone keeps full access, subscribers included, and lifetime buyers can download the course.

What happens next

  • On the closing date access ends. Within 5 business days we refund subscribers for paid days past the date, and lifetime buyers for the part they had not completed. Both come from your share.
  • Students keep their progress, certificates, skills and achievements, and the room carries on as a group chat.
  • Until the date, Cancel retirement stops it. The course becomes a draft to publish again, and students are emailed that it is staying.
  • The publishing fee is not refunded.

Rules and limits

  • A retiring course cannot be unpublished.
  • A course can be deleted only if nobody ever enrolled, refunded buyers included, and no collaborator was paid from it.
  • If a course only needs work, unpublish it instead of retiring it.

If something goes wrong

"This course has students. Retire it instead…"
Someone enrolled once, so retire it.
"This course is retiring. Cancel the retirement first."
Cancel the retirement, then unpublish.
