The pre-publish checklist

Publish course stays off until every line passes: content, listing, price, disclosures, onboarding and your account. Each line links to where it is fixed.

Editor → Publish

The publish page lists what must be true before a course can go live, and Publish course stays off until every line passes. Nothing is set on this page: each line has a Fix link to the one place that thing is set. Re-check reads it again, and so does coming back to the tab.

What it checks

GroupWhat must be true
ContentA real title (not Untitled Course with a number) without the word ACADA, a description, at least one image or video, 2 modules, 3 lessons, one free preview lesson and 45 minutes in all.
ListingA category, and at least 3 skills.
Price and accessA price decided (Free counts), every tier at or above its minimum, a signature of 2 characters or more if certificates are on, and only published prerequisites.
DisclosuresThe AI disclosure answered. "No AI-generated material" is an answer.
OnboardingA switched-on questionnaire with its questions written.
Your accountA creator account, a payout method for a paid course, a card for the publishing fee unless this course's fee is paid, and no restriction on publishing.

A course that is retired or retiring, on a copyright hold, or hidden by moderation shows a card saying so instead of the list. Cancel a retirement from the course's menu on the Creator Dashboard Overview.

Worth a look

Under the list, Worth a look names things that would not stop the course going live but would show. Each links to the lesson or module it means.

  • No difficulty set.
  • A content warning with no note.
  • A module with no lessons or no description.
  • Lessons with no content, or under 3 minutes.
  • Empty blocks.

Rules and limits

  • A paid course needs a Stripe account that can receive payouts, or PayPal if you live outside the US. A free course needs no payout method.
  • The list runs for a live course too, so a course published before a rule existed still shows what it is missing.
  • We do not review courses before they go live; we act on reports. Broken content and confirmed errors are yours to fix within 14 days of notice (Course Content Policy).
