Announcements

The announcements channel in your course room is where you tell every student something. A post there notifies the course's students in the app. It also emails those who have Course Announcements on, which is everyone who has not turned it off.

How to post one

   Open your course room and the announcements channel.

   Write the announcement and send it.

   You see how many students were told.

Rules and limits

• It reaches students who are still enrolled, were not refunded and whose access has not run out.
• You, admins and any role given Post in Announcements can post. Students can reply in a thread under a post.
• It is the only way a change reaches students by email; edits alone do not. The subject is "New announcement in" and the course's title.
• The email goes as you post. If the page was closed before it went, it goes the next morning.
• A post that is only an attachment notifies nobody, so add a line of text.
