Read receipts and typing indicators

Under your own messages, an eye and a number show how many people have seen each one. Under the box you type in, ACADA shows who else is typing. Both work in rooms and in direct messages.

How it works

Point at the eye under your message for the count of people who have read it.

Is typing

For example "Sam is typing" or "Sam and Alex are typing". It clears 3 seconds after they stop.

What you can change

Turn Read Receipts off in Settings → Privacy and nobody sees when you have read their messages. Your reads stop counting toward any Seen by number, any Seen in a direct message and any announcement count, including messages you read before. You still see counts on your own messages from people who keep theirs on. Typing cannot be turned off.

Rules and limits

• Read counts and typing show only to people who can see the channel.
• You see read counts only on messages you sent.
• In a direct message, a count of 1 means the other person has seen it.
• Whoever posts an announcement sees how many of the people it was for have read it. Someone with read receipts off never counts as having read it.
• Reading a message request does not count until you accept it. See Direct messages.
