Assignments
Hand in text, links or a file of up to 25 MB; classmates see it in the feed, and nothing is graded.
An assignment is work you hand in: written text, one or more links, or a file, whichever the creator allows. There is no grade. Classmates see your work in the course feed, and the creator can comment on it. A Mandatory assignment holds the lesson until you hand it in.
Before you hand it in
- Read the instructions and, if there is one, the Grading Rubric: the points the creator looks for. Nothing is graded, so treat it as a guide.
- A file can be a document (PDF, Word, Excel, CSV, text or Markdown), an archive (ZIP, RAR or TAR), code, or an image. One file, up to 25 MB.
- Images can be JPG, PNG, GIF or WebP.
- Links can number up to 10, each starting http:// or https://, with an optional note.
How to hand in an assignment
- 1.
Write your response, paste your links, or choose a file. If the creator asks, give your work a name.
- 2.
Choose Submit Response, or Submit Link (Submit Links for several). A file is handed in as soon as you choose or drop it.
- 3.
Check that the block shows Submitted with your work.
What happens next
Your work appears in Submitted Assignments for everyone with current access to the course. Classmates can comment and vote on it, and the creator answers in the same thread. To change it, choose Resubmit. The new version replaces the old one, which is not kept, and the comments and votes stay with it.
Seeing every assignment
Course Curriculum lists every assignment in the course, and a module's page the ones in its lessons. Each shows what it accepts, its estimated time, Mandatory or Optional, its rubric and how many have handed it in.
It has to be your own work. Handing in someone else's, or work an AI wrote for you, breaks the Academic Integrity policy and can cost you the certificate.
If something goes wrong
- "That file is [size]. The limit is 25 MB."
- Make the file smaller, or share it as a link if the creator allows links.
- "That kind of file cannot be uploaded…"
- Save it as one of the types above.
- "You must be enrolled in this course to submit an assignment."
- Assignments are for students with current access to the course.
- "[address] is not a web address. Links start with http:// or https://."
- Correct the address.
- "Upload the file here rather than linking to it."
- The creator asks for a file. Upload it instead of a link.
