Threads inside lessons

A thread block is a real thread from the course room: post in the lesson and it appears in the room.

A thread block brings a conversation from the course room into the lesson. It is a real thread in one of the room's channels. What you post in the block appears in the room, and replies in the room appear in the block.

How it works

  • Type in Reply to this thread... and choose Send, or press Ctrl+Enter. Enter on its own starts a new line.
  • You can edit or delete your own messages. A deleted one reads "This message was deleted".
  • Posting needs the same rights as posting in that channel of the room. If you are muted there, or the channel is closed to students, you can read the thread but not reply.

Threads and discussions

A thread is an open conversation that carries on in the room. A discussion asks each student for their own answer, which stays in the lesson. See Threads for how threads work in a room.

If something goes wrong

"Your reply was not sent. You may not be able to post in this thread."
You cannot post in that channel, or the connection dropped. Your message is still in the box.
"That edit was not saved. Try again."
The message is unchanged. Edit it again.
